What is CashBack on Track?

Launched in September 2023, CashBack on Track is a three-year project funded by the Scottish Government Programme CashBack for Communities. The project runs across Scotland and is a development of work from our CashBack for Change project (2020-2023).

The CashBack on Track programme uses dance to nurture the development and well-being of young people in Scottish communities so that they can live positive, resilient, and fulfilling lives and focuses on diversion from involvement with the criminal justice system.

We deliver a range of activities that benefit young people aged 10-25 who are:

  • Growing up in poverty and/or the most deprived communities

  • Living with caring responsibilities

  • At risk of entering the criminal justice system

  • In custody

  • Vulnerable young parents

  • Care experienced

  • Most affected by crime

  • Experiencing or recovering from trauma

  • Experiencing mental health difficulties

By providing free, weekly dance sessions, the young people build their confidence and resilience whilst developing core skills such as communication, teamwork and commitment. Sessions also encourage the participants to express themselves in a safe and supportive environment that nurtures their ideas and creativity whilst improving their overall health and well-being.
